It was another good day on the M Trail. The days are getting noticeably shorter, or I am hitting the trail earlier.
It was an M Trail Monday, nothing manic about it. Another beautiful, blue skied morning here in Montana. Blood flowing through the veins is a good thing!
I continue to pursue, spending time in the Word (Spiritual and Mental training) and moving (Physical training). Keep on keeping on and stay focused.
Today’s Scripture Readings: Psalm 2, Psalm 32, Psalm 62, Psalm 92, Psalm 122, Proverbs 2
Verses of Note:
“8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. 9 Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.” — Psalm 32:8-9
Well, I am happy to say that the sun did not go down this day without me tackling the M. This afternoon I went up through the back door and came down through the front door. It is good to be moving and pursuing better health and fitness.
This pursuit has gotten me thinking about what Paul penned in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.
“24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”
How critical it is that we be obedient to our calling as His children and that we discipline ourselves to continually prepare our bodies, minds and souls for His work. That is why it is essential that we spend time in His Word (Spiritual and Mental training) and moving (Physical training) everyday. Yet, I realize that I can do nothing without “Christ who strengthens me.” Lord, please help me to stay focused on you. Amen.
Made it up the M again today. It was an overcast day, but it was a morning hike. Thunderstorms appear to be on the horizon as the clouds are moving in. I tried to capture a bit of morning sunshine peeking through the clouds. If you look real closely at the picture below, you might see the sliver of sun beams on the mountain across the way.
Another push up the M Trail today. I met a lady from Washington state on the trail that did three trips today. She told that she was trying for four, but ran out of time. Good job! Who knows, maybe by the end of the summer I will be doing the same thing. We’ll see.
